Impound and Storage Fees
North Zone Impound price of $297.00 and a storage price of $22.00 per 12-hour increment.
South Zone Impound price of $263.00 and a storage price of $19.00 per 12-hour increment.

Required Information to Release Vehicle

Vehicle can be released to registered owner. In addition to paying fees, you will need the following to release your vehicle:
Proof of Ownership

Documentation displaying your proof of Ownership.

Registration

Current registration, title, or lease agreement.

License Plate/VIN

License Plate Number or Vehicle Identification Number

Identification

Valid Picture Identification, such as a Driver’s License or an Identification Card.

Authorizing Someone Else to Release Vehicle

A person who is not the registered owner may pick up the vehicle, or remove property from the vehicle, if they have a notarized statement from the registered owner that includes:

  • The name of the authorized person
  • A legible photo copy of the registered owner's Identification Card or Driver's License
  • License Plate Number or Vehicle Identification Number
  • Make and year of the vehicle

Rental Cars
To release a rental vehicle, a person must present the rental agreement and the matching identification card or Driver's License on the agreement.

Vehicles on Hold

If the vehicle was involved in a crime or is being held for investigation it must be cleared by Seattle Police Department.
